Sweet Stuff: Litterless Lunch Essentials

We’ve fought it as long as we could. But now there’s no ignoring that September is around the corner. Some of you have kids who have already headed back to school! Which means that the relentless lunch making machine must power up. We loved hearing about Today’s Parent editor-in-chief, Karine Ewart’s system for getting her kids to pack their own lunches. (When you’ve got four kids, you need some systems!). Check it out here. We’ll be bringing you lots of lunch ideas throughout the fall – we know that the job doesn’t finish in September. But you also need to pack that meal up, too. Here are some of our favourite ways to get lunch to school with minimum waste and maximum style. Your kid keeps trading his sandwich? That you’ll have to figure out on your own…

What’s not to love about this lunch box? The Goodbyn has a compartment for everything so your crackers don’t crush against you apple and your sammie stays together. Comes with its own water bottle so you don’t need to pack a juice box. The plastic is BPA- phthalate free and easy to wash out. Plus it comes with piles of stickers so kids can make it their own. $28.99 from Raspberry Kids.

Have a tween in your house? Lunch boxes in primary colours maybe a little too… little for her. But wouldn’t she love this number for pbteen? We’ve been calling it lunch luggage – so much more chic! $21.82 from pbteen.com.

Say goodbye to going through miles of cling film for wrapping sandwiches. We love the graphic prints on these reusable Lunchskins as well as the way they rinse clean so easily. $9.99 from Raspberry Kids.
