Sweet Stuff: Beautiful Basics

Have you walked into West Elm lately? Ben and I stopped by just this week to exchange something from Christmas but we couldn't get past the big display in the middle of the store showing off their new line called Market. With a product line that spans from kitchen to garden to laundry, it's a bit like an old-timey General Store with basics that you need, but made just a little cuter than necessary. It's a bit Kinfolk. (Have you had the pleasure? Rustic food, great photography, guys with beards.) In other words, I love it! I could show you a million images of things I'm now coveting but I think these beautiful bamboo utensils sum it up  - simple, but just a little better looking than what you've already got. Bamboo is a great renewable resource, has antibacterial properties and doesn't absorb much water so it resists shrinking and warping. Sold individually or in sets of 3. $6.23 each. You can pick up anything from the line on the West Elm website, the shop-within-shop in Toronto's Liberty Village location or in the new freestanding store in Vancouver (2915 Granville St.)
